REGULATIONS

  • Wheelchair users have designated priority spaces on buses and trams.
  • Walking frames and rollators are also permitted on board.
  • All our buses are equipped with a retractable ramp that the driver can deploy to assist passengers with reduced mobility.

On buses:

  • Unfolded scooters, and bicycles (whether folded or unfolded), are not permitted.
  • Folded scooters are allowed.

Transporting bulky items or hazardous materials is prohibited on CTS vehicles.

Smoking and vaping are prohibited in the vehicles (Articles R. 2241-17 and R. 2241-22 of the Transport Code).

Nor are passengers permitted to board a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drink alcoholic beverages on board (article R.2241-15 of the Transport Code).

In areas open to the public, video protection is implemented by the CTS, for the safety of people and of property (Articles L.223-1 to L.223-9, L.251-1 to L.255-1, L.613-13 and R.251-1 to R.253-4 of the French Internal Security Code).

Images are held for up to 30 days and, in the event of an incident, can be viewed by authorised CTS personnel and by law enforcement officials.

It is also possible to make a complaint to the CNIL directly.

For your safety and for their own, sworn officers of the CTS may use personal mobile cameras.

All passengers are invited to give up their seat to passengers with a card marked "station debout pénible" (unable to stand), elderly passengers, pregnant mothers and people accompanied by children under the age of 4.

Wheelchairs have priority reserved spaces.

Walkers and rollators are also allowed on buses and trams.

Strollers must be parked in the area set aside for wheelchairs (which have priority) when it is free.

The driver may refuse access to strollers if he considers it will inconvenience other passengers or cause a risk of accident.

The use of any audio device or mobile phone is authorised only with headphones and on condition the volume does not disturb other passengers.

Only the following are permitted in vehicles (Bus + Tram) :

  • guide dogs for the blind or assistance dogs accompanying people with a disability card / priority card or CMI (no muzzle allowed).
  • small pets pets suitably locked

Muzzled dogs on a short lead are permitted in authorised vehicles (Tram).

For safety reasons, it is strictly prohibited to hang on to any external component of a tram.

Passengers are not permitted to eat or drink on buses and trams, nor may they drop litter or put their feet on the seats.

For your safety, hold on to the bars and handles during the journey.

VALIDATION

  • Because it is required, quite simply.
  • To know instantly (with a beep) whether your travel pass is currently valid.
  • Because in the event of an incident during your journey, validation can serve as proof that you were on board one of our vehicles.
  • To help us understand ridership levels and adjust the transport offer accordingly.
  • To support shared responsibility and ensure a positive travel experience for everyone.

No.
If you use tickets stored on your card, only the first validation deducts a ticket. Validations made during a transfer do not deduct additional tickets within one hour of the initial validation.

PENALTY FARES

You have a legal period of three months from the date the penalty was issued to submit a challenge.

Your request must include a legible copy of the penalty notice, the reasons for your challenge and all supporting documents required to assess your case.

You may contest a penalty either via the online form or by post at the following address:

CTS may grant a goodwill gesture once per year (over a rolling 12-month period) for subscribers who receive a penalty fare.

To request this, you must submit a challenge within three months of the penalty date.

By using our public transport, you agree to comply with the network rules, including validating your ticket each time you board and at every transfer.

Validation is essential not only for inspection purposes but also for your safety: in the event of an accident, it allows insurance providers to confirm that you were indeed on board.

If you believe a penalty fare was issued in error, you may contest it by completing the online challenge form.

In the event of non-payment on the spot, a €40 administrative fee is added to the fixed indemnity from day 1 to day 92.
